National Geographic GeoBee Challenge HD
This is a challenging game, so it's not for beginners...but do keep in mind that the National Geographic Bee is meant for kids in grades 4-8. Are you smarter than a 4th grader? If you need help studying, you should check out the National Geographic World Atlas HD app, also available on iTunes.
Three types of game play make sure you really know your stuff and never get bored.
In the multiple-choice round, answers come from a library of more than 1300 National Geographic Bee questions. In the map challenge round, you zoom, pinch and tap your way to find spots on an interactive map from a catalog of 1000+ locations. For an added challenge, bonus rounds include compelling National Geographic photographs where you have to locate what's in the photo on the interactive map...only we don't tell you where the photo was taken or what is in the picture!
The faster you answer, the more points you get! You have to keep up the pace to move on to the next round.
About National Geographic Bee:
Each year thousands of schools in the United States participate in the National Geographic Bee using materials prepared by the National Geographic Society. The contest is designed to encourage teachers to include geography in their classrooms, spark student interest in the subject, and increase public awareness about geography. Schools with students in grades four through eight are eligible for this entertaining and challenging test of geographic knowledge.

Fun but flawed
My 9 year old geography wiz really likes this app except for a few problems. On many of the questions, one is offered dots on the maps to choose from when answering a question. But pretty often, the answer when given is located nowhere near one of the dots on the map. Also, when you tap right on the correct location, it sometimes tells you you're wrong and shows you the "correct" location -- incredibly close to where you tapped and off to the side of the actual city dot or star. We answered a question correctly identifying Washington state, but the app while congratulating us for answering correctly, showed the identifying symbol for a correct answer on Washington,DC. Oops! That is a pretty big geography goof. Still, it is a lot of fun and a great way to learn geography. We hope these problems will be fixed soon.

I like this app. I am a teacher who enjoys Geography and got this for myself to try and also for my 3 children in grades 3 to 8. This is a fun app and very educational.
This is what I would fix.
--For the map section, it is too sensitive, sometimes setting off the flag while you are enlarging and before you intended to drop it.
-- For the bonus round, the points awarded for each question is missing.
--Scoring: There should be more than 5 top scores, I would have ten. There is not a setting to reset the scores. This is an important feature.
--It would be great to have it connected to all scores to see how you compare with others in the world on a daily, weekly, and all time basis.
These are just some suggestions. I really like the app.
